Dreamweaver is Adobe’s application for coding, editing, and maintaining websites. It lets you edit websites both by coding them manually and through an intuitive visual interface. Dreamweaver includes many of the features of a traditional, text-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) like syntax-highlighting, automatic code-completion. In Dreamweaver, create a new site and assign it the documents directory of your testing server as its local directory. It’s as simple as that. Assign a testing server to your site. In the setup dialog for your new site, you need to assign it your WAMP/XAMP/MAMP as a testing server.
I am taking a first term PHP class. We have been given instructions on the installation and configuration of XAMPP and editors. The given instructions do not seem to be working. I have not been able to get any assistance from the instructor to this point as he is busy and doesn't have a Mac. The instructions we were given are available here < https://files.me.com/ldmartin1959/qbcv9p > and here < files.me.com/ldmartin1959/vujjff >. The problems I am having begin in the second document, 'Dreamweaver CS5: Setting up a local PHP Testing Server'. I have followed the instructions and as far as I can see have made no errors. Yet, it doesn't work. I get an error message in DreamWeaver / CS5 that reads, 'Dynamically-related files could not be resolved because the server is out of memory or disk space.' This is apparently a XAMPP configuration issue as I have 16GB of ram and 2TB of hard drive space, so I am definitely not out of memory or disk space.Anyone got any clues?

Step 2 - Create a PHP file
Step 4 - Save and Preview
When building your sites locally using PHP, you'll need a localhost server set up to test your files.
If you have no idea how to set up your localhost, this tutorial will show you how to do so with Adobe Dreamweaver on Windows.
This tutorial is based on Dreamweaver CC, but can also apply to Dreamweaver CS6.

Step 1 - Install a PHP development environment
First you'll need a PHP development environment installed.
In this tutorial we'll be using XAMPP, which is the most popular one and can be downloaded here for free.
In this tutorial we'll be using XAMPP, which is the most popular one and can be downloaded here for free.
Once downloaded, you will need to choose which hard-drive to install XAMPP onto. For this tutorial I have chosen my external E:Drive.
Once installed, open the XAMPP folder in the installed location and double click on the 'xampp-control' icon as pictured below
Next, click on the 'Start' buttons for Apache and MySQL and you should be ready to go!
If they immediately stop running, you may need to allow access through the Windows Firewall.
Step 2 - Create a PHP file
2.1 - Once XAMPP is installed, open Dreamweaver and click on the 'Create New..' button as in the below left example.
Otherwise you can also click on 'File' in the top menu and choose 'New' as in the below right example.
